The Slider?

Waaaaaay back in October, when we started addition, I thought of making this..... thing.  It was sort of like a rekenrek, but adaptable.  This is what I came up with!  What makes it so awesome is that it can be changed very quickly for whatever numbers you need because it's just clothespins.  When you are trying to find all the ways to make 10, just put 10 clothespins and slide them from one side to the other to make sets.  To subtract, the clothespins match your first number, then slide away one group.  This is not only great for "take-away" subtracting, but "how many did we take away" or "how many did we start with" subtraction!  I made this slider? with 2 of those really strong white magnets with hooks on the front.  I cut the bottom section off a wire coat hanger (it has to be something rigid) and hot glued it in the two hooks.  Then I glued monkeys on the fronts and colored the clothespins yellow with a Sharpie to make "bananas." EASY!

Another FREEBIE!

I made this Fire Safety Matchbook YEARS ago, like literally before computers, as you can see in the photos of the inside.  With October being Fire Safety Month, I thought you might like it as another FREEBIE!  Just click the link to find it in my TPT store.

Kindergarten Common Core

WooHoo!  I cannot believe I found this!  This workbook seems to have EVERYTHING we need to teach the Kindergarten Common Core Standards for Math and Science in one book!  This 600+ page download has lists of the standards, great activities and worksheets for each of them and posters to use when teaching them.  Even the clipart is super cute!  I can't wait to get my copy!

I've been nominated!

fast degree programs
Wow!  I'm honored!  I was nominated for this award despite the fact that I haven't posted since March!  Let me catch you up. (The really short version!)  April was hectic.  May was more hectic.  Lots of relaxing since school was out, really haven't accomplished a thing!  I did trim bushes one day.  Now I have poison ivy!  Lots of it!  Never again!  Now I'm watching the guys building a pool in our backyard!  Lots of relaxation to come! Ahhhhh!

Transportation

It has been so nice to have the day off!  Just one day, but it was great!  With temps in Alabama around 80, the kinderkids are coming down with Spring Fever!  Having the day off gave me a little extra time to finish my Transportation unit and "Riding on the Bus" songbook (Jack Hartmann) and load them up to TPT.  Click on the images to see them.
